Die Werke, die mir am Herzen liegen, haben meist mit Themen zu tun, die mich in der Planungszeit am meisten bewegen, wie gerade jetzt die Flut von Flüchtlingen und deren Schicksale. Es sind bestimmte Momente, die ich in den Skulpturen darstelle.
Die Eichenskulptur „Ich werde fliegen“ hält den Moment fest, in dem ein vom Wunsch, fliegen zu können, besessener Mensch zum Vogel mutiert und in diesem Augenblick voller Ungeduld von einem Stahlgestell losfliegen will, noch ehe die Mutation vollkommen abgeschlossen ist.
Die Buchenskulptur „Coming out“ zeigt ein androides Baumwesen. Es hat beschlossen, den Baumstamm, der ihm gleichzeitig Schutz und Gefängnis ist, zu verlassen, ohne die Hindernisse zu bedenken, die ihm im Weg stehen.

The pieces of work I am most concerned with are mostly about subjects occupying my thoughts and feelings at that time. Right now it is the fate of so many refugees, the question of coping with quite new and unknown situations.
My sculptures often express one short moment of a situation.
“I will fly” is an oak sculpture that shows a man mutating into a bird out of the overwhelming wish to fly. The mutation is not completed yet, but the impatience is too great to wait and this is the moment he jumps off the steel frame to take off.
“Coming out” presents the decision of an android being who has lived in a tree so far. The tree was at the same time shelter and prison. This is the first step into the outward world through a much too narrow gap, which alludes to further obstacles not yet considered.
