The opening of the exhibition „unknown ground – on the strange and familiar“ was on sunday, 26th of june 2016 at 11am. We had over 300 visitors and beautiful weather.
We would like to thank our patron Mayor Jochen Partsch for his opening speech and most of all we want to thank our three speakers who gave us interesting ideas about „unknown ground“ from different point of views not related to art. The audience was thus given interesting food for thought on the way through the exhibition:
- Dr. Barbara Bornheimer, specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy and head physician of VITOS Clinic Bamberger Hof in Frankfurt.
She spoke about the unknown and unconscious in the brain. - Anna Courtpozanis, educational assistant at the Educational Institute of Hessian Economy in the field of rehabilitation.
She is blind from birth, and reported on her experiences in dealing with the blindness and the professional area with sick and disabled. - Prof. Dr. Angelika Humbert, professor of glaciology and ice modeling at the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven.
She researches there, among other things, the melting behavior of icebergs and was last winter for a 3-month research expedition in Antarctica. She told of the expedition.
