3 pm performance with Gunilda Wörner:

un-visible sounds

In the cello-live-performance „un-visible sounds“, movements of the bow on the instrument are made visible. The bow is extended at the tip by a pencil which itself transfers the sound production – high/low, fast/slow, staccato/legato – into lines on a layer of paper that is stretched horizontally. Is it possible to visualize sounds? Is there any further insight from the result of visualization. Can the notation serve again as a pattern for a musical reaction?
